1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Range Ledger (referred to as “Range Ledger,” “we,” “us” and “our”) handles information when you use the Range Ledger mobile app or visit getrangeledger.com.
Range Ledger is designed as a personal, local-first logbook. The core records you enter into the app are stored on your device, using encrypted local storage. The website is a static informational site; it does not require a user account.
2. Information in the mobile app
The app allows you to create and manage information such as firearm profiles, range session history, ammunition inventory, notes and attached photos. These logbook records are designed to remain in encrypted storage on your device. They are not uploaded to a Range Ledger cloud database for account synchronisation.
Some information may be handled separately by your device operating system or app marketplace, including app installation, purchases, crash reports or optional device backups. Device backup behaviour depends on your settings and platform configuration.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by the applicable app marketplace (Apple App Store or Google Play). Range Ledger uses RevenueCat to help manage subscriptions and access entitlements. In that process, subscription-related information, such as purchase events, product identifiers, subscription status and an app-specific identifier, may be processed by those providers.
We do not process your full payment card details directly through this website. Marketplace billing and refund procedures are governed by the relevant marketplace's terms and privacy practices.
4. Website and hosting information
This informational website does not include account registration, contact forms, advertising trackers or analytics scripts in the version published from this website repository. We do not intentionally set first-party tracking cookies through the site's HTML.
Firebase Hosting and its infrastructure may automatically process technical request data, such as IP addresses, browser information and request timestamps, to deliver the site, protect the service and operate hosting infrastructure. Your internet provider and browser may also process related connection information.
5. Service providers and external links
Information may be handled by service providers for limited operational purposes, including Google Firebase (site hosting), Apple and Google (app distribution and payments) and RevenueCat (subscription management). Their handling of data is subject to their own policies and applicable contractual obligations.
This website may include links to external services. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of websites we do not operate.
6. Security and retention
Local encryption is intended to protect your logbook information stored within the app. No storage system or electronic communication method can be guaranteed completely secure. We recommend protecting access to your device and keeping its software updated.
Your local logbook records generally remain on your device until you remove or change them or delete the app and its local data. Copies retained by device backups may be governed by your backup settings. Subscription transaction records are subject to marketplace and subscription-provider retention practices, including applicable legal requirements.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
- Local records: You can manage records within the app; removing the app and its data from your device generally removes that device's local app database, subject to any backups.
- Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.
- Privacy enquiries: You may contact us to ask about provider-held information associated with your use of the service or applicable privacy rights.
8. Children
Range Ledger is not designed for, or directed at, children under the age of 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when this version was published. Material changes should be reflected in an updated policy.
